Meet local artist Roger Muzii

Orazio (Roger) Muzii was born in the Bronx in 1952. I am a third generation non-professional artist. My father Luigi was an amateur painter as was his uncle and teacher, Nicola Vitale. Like them, I do realistic, representational paintings (in oil) and drawings in graphite, charcoal or pastel. I have taken art classes and workshops at Silvermine Art Center in New Caanan, CT and Emily Denise Fine Arts in Tarrytown, NY. My approach to art has largely followed the Atelier method. Prior to that I completed a BA in Psychology at NYU in 1974 and a certificate in Physical Therapy also at NYU in 1976. I received a Ph.D. In Psychology from Columbia University in 1988 (neuroscience not clinical). I have done clinical work in PT in Manhattan and Westchester and have taught psychology at Columbia Teachers College as an adjunct and Physical Therapy at New York Medical College. I live in Sleepy Hollow, NY.
