Please join local author Carolyn Sklar for a presentation of her new picture book, M is for Mastectomy.
In this vibrantly illustrated children's book, kids are given a top secret mission: take care of Mommy after she has her mastectomy. The child's mission is energetically outlined using before & after scenarios to explain how daily playtime and routines with Mom may need to alter after her procedure. The story uses humor and recognizable parent/child experiences to help young ones realize their special role in the recovery (while delicately allowing Mom to share that they'll need to be extra careful around her, afterwards).
A craft activity will follow the reading.
