For centuries, humans have been drawn to experiences that make their hearts race, whether through the thrill of the unknown or the excitement of danger. From the earliest examples of “haunted houses” to the more extreme forms of public executions, people have sought ways to get their adrenaline pumping. In this talk, led by author and lecturer Lucy Santos, we will delve into the history of some of the darker forms of entertainment that have captivated people and stirred our darkest fears.
