Program Description

Event Details

Author Alice Look will share stories about women who changed our world yet have been overlooked or uncredited for their remarkable contributions. Texting, the windshield wiper, the dishwasher, GPS, the covid vaccine were invented by women. A woman finished the Brooklyn Bridge. A woman created the software code that enabled Neil Armstrong to walk on the moon decades ago.

Women were the driving forces behind the creation of two of our biggest holidays --Mother’s Day and Thanksgiving. A woman created the first computer program for blind and visually impaired users. The list goes on.

The program will also ask the audience, “who do you know who is a remarkable woman?” Share their stores here and help them shine.

This presentation will be held on the 3rd floor of the library. All are welcome to attend.
